If you’ve ever stuck with a particular workout routine for more than a few weeks you’ve probably settled into a routine and eventually felt like you weren’t making as much progress with your workout goals.   Most likely you need to change your workout routine.   Here’s a few reasons to change your workout every few weeks:

  1. Keep your muscles from adapting to your same routine.  Over time your muscles will adapt to the same workout routine so it’s important to change up your routine.   For example instead of running for your cardio every time, change it up and ride bike instead.  Keep your body guessing as to what’s coming next.

  2. Prevent over working muscles.   Doing the same workout routine each week can eventually lead to over working muscles and cause you to to lose muscle or possibly even injure your muscles.    Simply change your routine every couple weeks and this should not be a problem plus it gives your muscles more time to recover after each workout.

  3. Have more fun. Make your workouts more fun and interesting by changing up your routines.   For example if you lift weights and go to a gym try a machine you’ve never tried before or an exercise you’ve never tried or change the number of sets and reps you are doing for an exercise.   You’ll have less chance of getting bored and will learn some new exercises at the same time.

So there you have it.   Three reasons to change up your workout routine.   Keep on exercising and enjoy your workouts.
