Giving Thanks

Even with the business of life and all the negative and destructive things going on in the world, it’s important to take some time and think about the things we take for granted and give thanks. Each year some things change in my priorities and what seems important from one year to the next is not usually the same. I think some of this has to do with getting older each year and being in different stages of life. Here are just a few things I thank God for and try to each day:Thanksgiving

  • my amazing wife and mother of our children – without her our house would not be a home
  • my three kids who keep things interesting with their unique personalities
  • my job that provides for our family
  • things taken for granted a lot of the time – house, food, clothes, transportation – my family is very blessed to have these things that many people do not have
  • good health
  • parents and siblings
  • in-laws that live close by
  • my church and the leadership that teaches from the Bible
  • friends willing to help in times of need
  • free will
  • freedom of religion
  • most importantly God and his grace, mercy, and love

Those are just a few things I am thankful for this year.   I hope you are able to enjoy Thanksgiving this year and are able to take a few minutes and give thanks!
